The makeup of a successful Racehorse embodies many characteristics such as Conformation, Breeding, Speed and Endurance.
I would also include Independence, Confidence and Toughness, qualities which I have witnessed at first hand as an Animal Chiropractor to be of primary importance towards being successful on the Racetrack.
Many of you will relate to Conformation, speed and endurance but few will realise how important the attributes of confidence and independence are in the overall scheme of things.
Having had the pleasure and experience of working with many of the top winning performers, on both Flat and Jumps, I have seen at first hand the importance of independence, confidence and conformation.
Conformation is the most critical component of the successful racehorse. You can have the best in Breeding and all the other attributes but without good conformation you are at nothing. It amazes me when I come to treat horses using Chiropractic Manipulation, how in many of these racehorses, how awful their conformation is!
In many of these cases, some of these horses have no chance of success on the racetrack. Many of these horses will have been purchased at leading Bloodstock Sales where it is very likely that the buyer will have been advised by Bloodstock people.
My Bloodstock Consultancy Service is based around the area of CONFORMATION. I am happy to leave the area of Pedigree Analysis to other experts in the field.
I provide practical advice to potential buyers of Racehorses in the areas of Conformation and Gait. Having had the pleasure and privilege of helping over 160 Group/Grade Winners to date through my Chiropractic Manipulation skills I am well placed to evaluate potential racehorses for prospective buyers.
